Talavera Farms’ new Arabian and Half-Arabian breeding and training facility is located in Oceanside California, north San Diego County, just a 20 minute drive from the Del Mar Fairgrounds where the Region 1 Show is held. Just 10 minutes from the beach, Talavera Farms is in an agricultural preserve with rolling hills reminiscent of Tuscany and is temperate most of the year, graced by cool ocean breezes in the evening.

BarnC Khresendo, the youngest breeding son of the great Khemosabi and out of a Bey Shah daughter, is the main stallion. He stamps his foals with that unmistakable “Khemo Look” and great disposition. Talavera Farms is also standing Inferno TF, an up-and-coming young black stallion by Sundance Kid.

Mares are foaled at home and young foals are handled from the very beginning and grow up frolicking out in pasture in small groups where they are socialized. Horses are started at home using a “kinder, gentler” method with a strong emphasis on ground manners before they are sent out to trainers. Customers always remark on how well behaved the horses are! We pride ourselves in raising horses with great dispositions and conformation that are easy to train. Talavera Farms is owned by the Talavera Family. Lynn Talavera began riding ponies at age eight out in the canyons of northern California. When she was twelve, her uncle bought her a Half-Arabian mare that sparked a life-long love of the Arabian horse. Although Lynn holds an MBA degree, runs a successful consulting business and has been adjunct faculty at National University for over 20 years, Arabians are her passion. Her daughter Christine is actively showing at the national level. Daughters Lisa and Stephanie are pursuing their higher educations at San Diego State and UC Santa Barbara. Alan, the youngest, helps his mom out as Chief Technology Officer!
